East Woodhay Village Hall
We are fortunate to have a lovely large hall in Heath End, East Woodhay (RG20 0AR).
The Hall was built in 1937 on land donated for the purpose of providing premises where the population of East Woodhay could meet, pursue interests, hobbies, groups, societies, events and parties. It was funded through public subscription and registered as a charity.
The property was assigned by the Trustees in 1938 to the Official Trustee of Charity Lands who holds the property on behalf of the Trustees.
The Hall dimensions are 8m wide by 16 m long, Capacity is 250 persons standing, 150 persons in theatre style seating and 100 persons seated at tables.
It was extended in the late 1990s by the addition of a meeting room, which is 3.3m wide and 8m long, capable of holding 24 persons in theatre style seating, 18 seated at tables.
Male and female toilets and a disabled toilet are provided and the Hall has two ramped access doors.
An Amenity Project undertaken in 2017-2019 with funding from The Good Exchange, and Basingstoke and Deane District Council made considerable improvements, restoring parity with other local Halls with our internal facilities, security and parking.
It has recently undergone significant refurbishment using S106 monies received by the Parish Council and is a bright, open space. It is used by our local short mat bowls club, cubs and scouts, as well as being hired for parties and events.
Next to the hall is a public tennis court and play area with climbing frame and picnic bench.
We have availability for hall hire- if you are interested in hiring the hall for a one off event or for a longer term/regular use, please contact:
